Flowers For The Future
A Virtual Gallery for girls in Afghanistan to showcase their art work

Project Overview
Flowers For the Future (FFF) Virtual Gallery is a gamified online exhibition that showcases the artwork of over 150 female students from Afghanistan.
FFF is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping female Afghan students earn U.S. high school diplomas. Through online classes, students in San Diego, California, collaborate with and teach diverse subjects to their counterparts in Afghanistan.
Following the rise of the Taliban, girls in Afghanistan were no longer permitted to attend school. FFF provided a solution, enabling these students to take online art classes and create a variety of artworks and writings. However, they needed a safe platform to display their work globally without fear of reprisal. The solution was a co-created virtual space, where the students guided the developers in shaping the creation and expression of their work.
The Virtual Gallery was presented at Comic-Con 2024 and receives funding and support from the Human Rights Foundation.
